The memory of Lombok

Image
The trip to Lombok was planned at the last minute, 2 weeks before. I got the travel agent's name while searching and reading blogs on Lombok trips. His quotation was cheaper compared to others since he has connections with the Indonesian travel agents. Next time, I might as well use the the Indonesian travel agents when planning my Indonesian trips. Communications are now easier with whatsapp social media. I told them I just need transportation with driver-cum-tourist guide. Do ask what kind of vehicle they offer and if it is new and has aircon. The charge was rm450+/pax for 4D3N which only cover the southern and western part of Lombok. This included meals too (can't remember whether 2 or 3 meals a day). If you order drinks other than plain water, you pay it yourself. Actually, we need more than a week to discover the whole of Lombok as there are quite a lot to see and do if you really want your airfare to be 'berbaloi' and you are not going there again. In any travel...

Cafe Jiran, Kuang

Image
Copying from my fb post, these are my comments on the newly opened Cafe Jiran in Kuang. " Trying out the menus at the new Jiran cafe at Jln Melati, Kuang. The atmosphere was more lively compare to the previous tenant, Attap cafe. More western oriented with the usual menus but offers local varieties as well. The creamy cheesy fish (dory fish instead of salmon) stands out from the rest (dont u really trust my taste). I dont want to point out the negatives (if u dont like, keep mum or tell the chefs, which indirectly I did :)]. " Located off Jalan Melati, about a few hundred meters from the traffic lights junction of Jalan Melati-Jalan Kuang-Jalan Sg.Plong-Jalan Kundang, the cafe is housed in a wooden, traditional design premise.  The exterior design is pleasing to the eyes and enticing enough for us to try it out. Out of curiosity.

Flavorful Big Brother, Kota Damansara

Image
Not to be confused with The Brothers the digital company. This is a western food outlet with generous servings and in affordable prices. As the title of this entry indicates, they dish out grills and chops full of herbal aroma. I haven't bake chicken for a long time that I have forgotten the name of the strong herb in the first dish that was served. Rosemary, I guess. We went there to give Madia the treat on her 24th birthday. Happy birthday, my most vocal, 3rd child! Love ya.

Central Anatolia: Cappadocia, land of natural wonders.

Image
Cappadocia, land of natural wonders. It includes Kaymakli, Gerome, Uchisar, and another four centers.   This post is quite long because we stayed here for two nights and visited many places like Kaymakli, Gerome Open Air museum, Valley of Imagination, Carpet making centre, jewelry centre and other view stops. More than half of us went up the air balloon trip.

The making of Burasak, a Bugis traditional food.

"Pos laju yang tak laju". Parcel was sent from Sabah on Wednesday morning and was tracked at Shah Alam at 7 am the next day (Thursday). Then, it was sent to Rawang and stayed there until I called asking for its whereabout at 2pm Friday. They said it would be delivered before 6 pm. It was but I had to go out. They didn't call when they arrived or I would have told them to pass it to one of my neighbors. They left a notification telling us to collect it the next day at Rawang which was more than half-an-hour away. I was in a fix when I read it because..OMG, the contents would be already spoilt. I called Pos Laju and ordered them to deliver it that very night. When I got it, I know straight away, the large fried prawns and mackerel fish were already wasted. However, I was really relieved and happy that the most important content, the BURAS, were still not spoilt. I ate one and kept the rest frozen for 2 weeks till Eidul Adha and finished them to the last bite!

A Promise Fulfilled.

Yes, a promise fulfilled. A small non-eastern delights for my sisters' family.  Next, a Bugis soto menu at Selandar, Melaka, Insya Allah.

Teapot Deli

I had been longing to eat the scones and pies at this cafe again since I went there last year. And after I tried it's sister outlet in PJ, I prefer this one although both have their own strengths. Actually, what attracted me to this place are it's delicious food, decor and cosy ambience. Just the best place to hang out and dream. If only it's located in a garden full of flowers, hmmm, it would be really, really beautiful.
